Light and Sound – Incompatible Counterparts?
Light and sound define our perception of space. Ideally, they should come from the same position. In some areas, however, aesthetic reasons preclude the use of wall or ceiling mounted systems. The possibility of flexible room layouts, arrangements and utilization also calls for a new, innovative solution.
In view of the complex requirements that were placed not only on the different areas, such as reception area, lobby, lounge, bar, restaurant and wellness area, but also on the hotel corridors and the conference and seminar rooms, the product developers from NewTec Design Audio and iGuzzinifaced a challenging task. The five star hotel in Cagliari, Sardinia, is theprototype solution to this challenge.
A symbiosis of the NewTec Design Audio models and the Frame large and Minimal large series from iGuzzini satisfies all demands on both lighting and top-quality sound. Manufactured with the same retention ring as the light systems, the loud speaker systems integrate into the modular ceiling in any number needed to meet acoustic requirements. In this way, the different demands on room size, atmosphere, sound volume, usage, and versatility of the room can be satisfied with one compact, visually appealing concept.
